The botanical name of real cinnamon is Cinnamomum zeylanicum or Cinnamomum verum; deriving from the former name of Sri Lanka ‘Ceylon’ the very island we call home. Hand picked and hand crafted, the ancient skill of creating the worlds finest cinnamon is passed through generations, with tools and methods that remain unchanged for millennia.

Cinnamon grows on our Rilhena Estate, situated close to Ratnapura or the city of gems, where the southern plains of Sri Lanka meet the ‘Hill Country’. The wonderfully diverse climatic conditions experienced in the area provide ideal conditions for the growth of cinnamon.

Our True Cinnamon is handcrafted by a group of experienced cinnamon peelers at a modern production facility conforming to all relevant food safety standards.
